The Sex Talk You Never Got — God’s Unfiltered Design for the Most Talked-About, Least Understood Topic in Marriage. This is the longest option I’ve been sent, and the one that leans hardest on tension rather than description.

Starting from a gap the reader already feels

“The sex talk you never got” isn’t telling a reader something new — it’s naming something they already know about their own life and simply haven’t heard said back to them this plainly. That’s a different kind of hook than the others. It doesn’t inform. It recognises. And “unfiltered” is doing quiet, important work right after it — signalling that whatever comes next won’t be another careful, sanitised version of a conversation the reader has already sat through, unsatisfied, more than once.

The tension in “most talked-about, least understood”

I keep returning to this phrase because it’s simply true, and true in a way that’s easy to forget precisely because sex is talked about constantly — in media, in comedy, in casual conversation — while almost none of that talking actually produces understanding. Volume isn’t the same as depth. A couple can spend years around the subject, hear it referenced daily, and still never once have had an honest, unhurried conversation about their own actual experience of it. Naming that gap creates a real question the book then has to answer, which is exactly what a good subtitle should do.

Why length is my real hesitation here

Everything in this subtitle earns its place — I don’t think there’s a wasted word in it. My hesitation is purely practical: it’s long enough that it may not survive being cropped for a spine, a search result, or a social caption without losing the very tension that makes it work in full.

The line I want you to keep

Being talked about constantly and being understood are not the same thing, and marriage will quietly cost you for confusing the two.
